Explore Islam
Learn. Ask. Discover.
Whether you're curious about Islam, searching for answers, or considering becoming Muslim, you are welcome at Masjid As-Salaam.
You don't need to know where to begin. Take your time, explore the basics, and ask questions.
What is Islam?
One God
Islam teaches that there is one Creator — Allah — who alone is worthy of worship.
One Message
From Adam, Noah, Ibrahim, Musa, and Isa to Muhammad ﷺ, Islam teaches that the prophets brought the same essential message: worship Allah alone and live according to His guidance.
The Qur'an
Muslims believe the Qur'an is the final revelation from Allah and a source of guidance for humanity.
A Life of Purpose
Islam calls us to worship Allah, develop good character, care for others, and live with purpose and accountability.
Who is Muhammad ﷺ?
Muslims believe Muhammad ﷺ is the final Messenger of Allah, sent to continue and complete the message carried by the prophets before him.
He called people to worship Allah alone, and he taught them how to live that belief in everyday life — through prayer, honesty, mercy, justice, care for family, and service to others. Much of what Muslims practice today comes from his example.
Have questions?
You don't have to figure it all out yourself.
You're welcome to ask anything about Islam — whether you're wondering about Allah, the Qur'an, Jesus (Isa, peace be upon him), prayer, Islamic beliefs, or something you've heard about Muslims.
You don't need to already be Muslim, and you don't need to have everything figured out. Visit Masjid As-Salaam and speak with the Imam — honest questions are always welcome.
Ready to take Shahadah?
If you have come to believe that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad ﷺ is His Messenger, you may be ready to take the next step.
Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan rasulullah.
“I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”
The Imam can meet with you privately, answer any remaining questions, explain the meaning of the Shahadah, and guide you through taking it.

Taking Shahadah is the beginning of the journey, not the end.
Masjid As-Salaam is a place to keep learning, pray with others, build relationships, and become part of the community.
